Wine Cellar
Celler Sabaté is situated in the district of Priorat, in the beautiful and small village of La Vilella Baixa, in Catalonien (Spain). The cellar ist part of the Priorat Denomination of Origin of Quality (D.O.Q Priorat), famous in all the world for obtaining wines of great quality and personality, taking as the basis the special climatic conditions with a lot of sunny days and only a few rains.
The wine elaborated by Celler Sabaté comes exclusively from the vineyards of their property and from their own harvest. The vineyards have an average of 35 years old, with the Grenache like the main variety of grapes, without leaving aside the Carignan and others like the Cabernet Sauvignon.
Our cellar is completely familiar. Since 1910, several generations have elaborated the wine traditionally and crafty, incorporating the new fermentation techniques in inox deposits. Harvest is very carefully done so that the grapes for wine-making are completely whole, healthy, have the best conditions for fermentation and they are aged in French and Hungarian oak casks. It permits to obtain a excellent quality of wines from the D.O.Q Priorat and which have obtained high punctuations in specialized publications. Moreover, the sort of elaborationand the cultivation of the land permit competitive prices in contrast to other wines of the area.
Our registered trademark of wine: MAS PLANTADETA, is the name of our main ranch and with this name, we are trying to identify the wine with the land where the grapes are cultivated.
